……….
The Race For The Cure event was another memorable event for me. Until RFTC, I’d never seen so many thousands of people coming together for one event. When I arrived at 7 am, I thought I would be early and beat the crowd, but I couldn’t have been more wrong. By 10am there were people from all over. Best Buy, Jordan Ford, local firefighters, nearby city high school cheerleading teams, 4 generations of family members, were all just a few of the teams I was blessed to meet. At the end of the day, I met the longest breast cancer survivor at the event (37 years). And another woman who has survived for 30 years. Their stories made me tear up, but when I looked around and saw the thousands of people who were there to help and support it was easy to wipe my tears away and smile. Sometimes it’s easy to forget how being healthy is a blessing; and RFTC was an event that helped remind me of this.
