The Animal Defense League is celebrating 75 years! This Saturday from 11am – 1pm there will be a birthday bash and Groundbreaking Ceremony for the new Humane Learning Center at the Nacodgoches Road location. There will be live music, games and prizes with KONO 101.1FM, a bouncy house for the kids, and food!

Miss Texas and myself, will help celebrate by volunteering at the event, and bringing along our own dogs as well. (Yes, this will be my miniature dachshund Oscar Meyer’s first appearance and he can’t wait!)

The Animal Defense League was the first ever shelter for homeless dogs and cats in San Antonio, and has remained a no-kill shelter in San Antonio. ADL is equipped with its own animal hospital, cares for homeless animals with life-threatening injuries, and provides a low-cost spay/neuter clinic for area residents in need of financial assistance. All ADL pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated.
