Working at a law firm confidentiality is always of the utmost importance. Sometimes it’s hard not to tell someone a story from work, but I can’t. I’ll lose my job if I ever did. Not to mention my father’s law firm could get sued. With that said, I can still be vague and never use names and share something.
Today I read a letter from a client in jail. We get these from time to time and of course there are some that send them regularly. Every once in awhile I read a letter that makes me re-evaluate the things in my life. The excuses, the complaints (I’m not one to complain, but I’m not perfect so of course I still do once in awhile), things I take for granted. When you read a letter from someone in jail who has been through some tough times, yet they still manage to be positive and thankful, you have to take a moment to say “wow.”
The Moral Of The Story: Stop complaining. Be positive. Be thankful. And do not take anything for granted.
