Delisi Araceli is a former actress and model, but is better known for her title as Miss Latina World 2008-2009 and her love of charity work. As the oldest of three daughters, Delisi spent her childhood growing up in San Antonio, Texas. She lived in Los Angeles and New York for 5 years, only to return to Texas where she currently resides.

In 2002, Delisi packed her bags and moved to Los Angeles, California two weeks after graduating high school. She stayed in Los Angeles for four years; two of which were spent attending the prestigious American Academy of Dramatic Arts, and then graduating in 2004. After graduation, Delisi perfected her craft in Los Angeles by appearing on networks such as the Game Show Network, Disney Channel, Telemundo and Univision to name a few. Meanwhile she continued her modeling career and in 2005, became one of the first clothing line models for Jennifer Lopez and hip hop artist Eve Jeffers.

Then the opportunity arose to move to Manhattan, New York and she did just that. She joined a casting agency in the city and having less success than in Los Angeles, Delisi would spend most of her down time behind the scenes of Saturday Night Live.  It was when her career seemed to be at a standstill that Delisi re-evaluated her future and decided to move back home to Texas.

When she moved back to Texas Delisi appeared on Friday Night Lights, did some local print work and was used as one of the faces of the American Rice brand Adolphus Rice; appearing in ads throughout the south and southeast United States. However, it is her title of Miss Latina World 2008-2009 and the work she has done with that title that sets Delisi apart.

During her reign as Miss Latina World, Delisi made community outreach and charity work her platform. She spoke to students at schools such as Driggers Elementary and Ed White Middle School about the importance of education, saying no to drugs and being good role models. She was also active with many charitable organizations such as Any Baby Can and The Salvation Army. Delisi is currently  Chair of Guadalupe Home, which is a program of the Catholic Charities Archdiocese, a transitional home that helps homeless mothers who are pregnant or just had a child. Guadalupe Home continues to be a large part of Delisi’s life.  In January 2012, Guadalupe Home moved to a brand new home and were able to expand in size thanks to Bob and Carmen Drury of Drury Hotels. This new location will now give Guadalupe Home the opportunity to help many more women and babies, as well as implement additional assistance programs.

All the while Delisi is also a full time student at UTSA (University of Texas at San Antonio) and will obtain her Bachelors Degree in Communication Studies in May of 2013. In her desire to be active in school, she is also the President of Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) at UTSA. Like many students Delisi also works part time as a legal secretary at her father’s law firm.  And while she insists her pageant days may be over, Delisi continues to assist young women by serving as a pageant trainer for the Miss Helotes pageant and judge or host pageants whenever possible.

In June of 2013, Delisi will get married in Jamaica. With her graduation in May and her wedding in June, 2013 will certainly be an eventful year!
