Delisi Araceli is both a professional actress and model, but is better known for her title as Miss Latina World 2008-2009. As the oldest of three daughters, she spent her childhood growing up in San Antonio, Texas; and at the age of five she knew she would become an actress.
In 2002 (only one week after graduating high school), she packed her bags and moved to Los Angeles, California. She stayed there for four years; two of which were spent attending the prestigious American Academy of Dramatic Arts, and then graduating in 2004. After graduation, Delisi perfected her craft in Los Angeles by appearing on networks such as the Game Show Network, Disney Channel, Telemundo and Univision. Meanwhile she continued her modeling career and in 2005, became one of the first clothing line models for J.Lo and hip hop artist Eve Jeffers.
Then the opportunity arose to move to Manhattan, New York and she did just that. She joined a casting agency in the city and frequently auditioned, while again continuing with her modeling career. Having less success than in Los Angeles, she would spend her days at Saturday Night Live with her actor friends on the show, only to be reminded how much she yearned for consistent work. After calling off her engagement, she needed her family and some time to regroup; so she packed her bags and moved back to San Antonio, Texas.
Delisi still resides in San Antonio, but travels to Los Angeles, New York and Austin frequently for work. You can see her on Season 2 of Friday Night Lights and the KABB FOX 29 morning show commercial in San Antonio. She is a regional print model for the American Rice brand Adolphus Rice; appearing in ads throughout the south and southeast United States. And also works full time at her fathers law firm, while attending UTSA (University of Texas at San Antonio) part time to obtain her Bachelors Degree in Communication.
Her title of Miss Latina World is one she holds with pride and maintains with professionalism. She is frequently appearing at events, hosting fundraisers, actively participating in charity, working with outreach programs and speaking publically to children about the importance of school, hard work and being good role models.
The charities she works closely with are Alamo Council of the Blind, Animal Defense League, Any Baby Can, Breast Cancer Association, Healthy Families San Antonio, Make A Wish Foundation, Red Cross, Salvation Army and Susan G. Komen. All while maintaing her position as a Board member of the Catholic charity Guadalupe Home.
